    The Arena

    		Built over 2000 years ago this Verona amphitheatre is one of the best preserved Roman monuments in Italy and dates back around the first century AD. It was originally used for gladiator fights, tournaments and circuses. Today, the theatre plays host to operas, theatrical performances and hoards of visitors.
